A common way of carrying one’s baby. Seen amongst lower class and hippies. Not a common sight in ‘mainland’ India.

I used to see this a lot in the Middle East too. Sudanese women carry their babies in a similar fashion; you should have been there to photograph them – their clothes were interesting. Covered (mostly because Saudi Arabia is a monarchy) in colours and fabrics, yet very pretty with the jewellery and odd trinkets.
